Worldwide AS Survey

Presentation (February 2012)

Investigators from ESGAP (ESCMID Study Group for Antibiotic Policies) in conjunction with the ISC (International Society for Chemotherapy) Antimicrobial Stewardship Working Group have developed this international survey of antimicrobial stewardship activity and capability.

We invite you to complete the first worldwide survey on Antimicrobial Stewardship. The survey is based on previous national surveys from around the world, and has been piloted and refined across all five continents. The results will be presented at international meetings and data will be available to allow continental, national and local benchmarking of antimicrobial stewardship programmes.

We would like one person from each hospital to complete the survey. It would be helpful, where appropriate, if you could disseminate this survey link through your contacts or organisations. The survey uses the web-based software SurveyMonkey. The survey takes between 30 to 45 minutes to complete. To be part of the analysis for ECCMID 2012, please complete the survey by 19 March 2012. After this time we are still happy to receive your completed survey until thefinal deadline 10 April 2012.

Update (March 26th, 2012)

Hi everyone. Here is an update of the responses we have had by continent, country and hospital. An excellent response so far of nearly 400 hospitals. I wonder if we can have another push before ECCMID through your networks. I've attached the letter and PDF of the questionnaire to forward onto your networks. The link is http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/ESCMID-ISC-AMS Many thanks for your hard work so far. I look forward to sharing the interim data with you at ECCMID.

Best wishes, Philip
